Eva L.

Köhler (Charcoal-burner)

We remember her pearl necklace.
It's not made of pearls, but of small apples.
Apple for Eve. The charcoal is already hot on the grill, which she always fetches directly from the charcoal burner.

Christina Rau

With Christina Rau we remember the red jacket
under which she carries the cross.Christin is always a cross for me.

That feels very rough.

With Bettina Wulf we see the earring.
She always puts it on when she's at night.
The earrings are from Tibet,
during the day she likes to lie in bed, but first the eat naane bread (Bettina).
Then when she comes home
she's as hungry as a wolf.(Wulff)

Christiane

Herzog (duchess)

At Christiane Herzog I remember the white blouse
She also wears a cross underneath.

When asked if she's also a duchess, she says:
'That's just my name'.

Remember names once introduced

to the President's wives

GER

The text from the video in English: A man hold a tomato in my hand
Out of it grows an Erica flower
There comes Santa Claus and grabs the little flower
and goes golfing with it
Whenever he hits the hole he loans a harmonica and plays a bit
Attracted by the music Queen Elisabeth comes with the Ferrari of Michael Schumacher
A man and tomato is Thomas Mann
The Erika flower is Erika Mann
Santa Claus is Klaus Mann
Golfing and loans is Golo Mann
Harmonica is Monica Mann
Elisabeth Mann and Michael Mann
These are the children of Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann in the order in which they were born

Remembering names is the most frequently asked question in memory training, because many believe that they have difficulties with it. But it is important to pay attention when someone says their name. Repeat it directly, so you know whether it is correct and you have heard it in your ear.
Listen carefully when someone says their name and make sure you understand them. When in doubt, ask and get them spelled out if necessary. Many surnames already have a picture.

By remembering the name, the anchor points are fixed to the person!

Four German Federal President's wives are there. Remember the last name first, then the first name. Please click!

As for the first names, I made a watch list for the most common names, and of course pictures again. Z.B Eva - Apfel, Thomas or Tom Tomato, Ernest - Nest, Marie - small cross, Maria - Baby, Oliver or Olivia - Olive, etc. You can make your own list, or there is one in my course.

I also have pictures of the most common surnames. e.g. the person Smith is a hammer for me. A baker is a bread. If the name of the carpenter is a board, etc. You can also think of an environment for the person and then place them there. Repeat the name more often in conversation. So make your own list!

When it comes to names, the most important thing is to first find a spot on the person that stands out. Here are two examples.

Mann

That's Ernest Risinger
The first name Ernest stands for a nest (eagle's nest).
We imagine there is a nest on his sparse hair in the nest we imagine there is rice.
Whenever the bird pecks at it, it sings afterwards. So he's a singer. As an environment, I imagine him in a choir.

Frau

Sarah Hoa
Sarah Hoa. Sarah has wonderfully long hair, a great mental mailbox.
For Sarah I use the term 'Sahara'.
Sand is trickling out of her hair, I see it on her left shoulder.
Hoa I break it down into hose and ant. On the right, imagine a hose with an ant walking on it. As an environment, I imagine them in a zoo.

Now take five pictures from a newspaper and think of just one characteristic of the person
That's enough for practice at first.

Once you have made a list of first names, with pictures like Christin - Kreuz, you can first give the people first names.

You notice the long blond hair on one person, her name is Sandra. Sandra is sand for me. So you see when she moves, how sand trickles from her hair. That's easy to remember, or can you think of something better?

Another example someone with a great tie is called Thomas, for me that was the tomato picture. Now you're wondering how he'll look if you crush a tomato on his tie. Even if he comes without a tie, you remember, something like that sticks.

We'll continue when you've practiced this enough. It's the most difficult exercise. But you can do it if you want.

By the way, the world record in remembering names for 5 minutes is 105 international names. Posted in 2017 by Katie Kermode. For most of you, 20 to 30 names are enough in half an hour and that can be trained! Practice in small steps, first linking the characteristic, then with the first name. Phone books are good for practice too!

Here's a story to learn about the German Federal President!

The story technique has been known for a long time and we also use it! But important here too you don't need to know what you haven't repeated at least five times! So,

Story of the Hay Wagon

Translating this into English is too difficult, therefore here in German.
